I’m proud to be able to help out veterans whenever possible. That’s why I’m happy to announce another bill is one step closer to helping veterans and their families.
The Michigan Legislature passed Public Act 161 of 2013 that allowed for disabled veterans to be 100 percent exempt from property tax liability — but left a gap where renters or lessees (and veterans’ widows) wouldn’t fall into that category. Well, now that is on its way to changing. House Bill 5278, which I sponsored, would work to remedy that.
